Learning history might keep us from making the same mistake twice.” Particularly interested in: The Holocaust era. Memorable books: The Diary of Anne Frank. Night by Elie Weisel. Junior project topic: Cultural assimilation. Especially: “How individuals, in trying to fit in, often lose their original culture.” Latest accomplishment: “Graduating from high school. I haven’t always cared about school and haven’t always been the brightest cookie.” What changed her mind: “I guess I just grew up and figured out I need to make my own way.” Latest challenge: Health issues. She had to: “Balance senior year while constantly in and out of the hospital.” Favorite Crusade program: Brown Summer High School. Why: “I took mostly history classes and felt it was preparing me for college.” Will attend: University of Rhode Island’s Talent Development program. To study: Maybe Biology or Biomedical Engineering. Might like to be: A physician. Biggest unknown about college: “My whole future. Not only my major but who I will meet and whether I will graduate, since I am a first-generation college student.” Advice for Crusaders going into high school: “My biggest regret is not trying in school. It comes back to haunt you later. Keep it real for yourself. Keep your promises to yourself and don’t procrastinate.” About my Crusade Advisor: “He wasn’t only my Advisor but also my friend.” What she looks for in a friend: “Someone who will come through for me when I really need them.” Volunteer experience: At Rhode Island Hospital, offering beverage cart service to patient visitors. What she does for fun: “There’s always a book in my phone.” What she reads with: Wattpad. Dream job: “Owning my own business.” Such as: An international chain of hotels.
