Because: “It’s cool to see how the structures of our society have developed, and it’s interesting to analyze what an author is saying.” Favorite author: Jodi Picoult. Favorite book: The Pact. Other favorite book: Nineteen Minutes. Senior portfolio highlight: Her essay on the pursuit of happiness. Conclusion: “It’s all about the happiness of the pursuit, the process of getting there.” Latest accomplishment: Hitting personal bests for indoor long jump and outdoor triple jump. Latest challenge: College applications. Why: “Thinking about it so much with all the other stuff going on, and even if you’re a top student it’s still very competitive.” In the end: “I just told them who I am.” Will attend: Brown University. On a: Full scholarship. To study: “I’m leaning toward pre-law and business law.” Dream job: CEO and General Counsel of Nike, Inc. Favorite Crusade program: CAAP, the Crusade Adventure & Academic Program. Because: “All the group experiences helped us develop close relationships.” About my Crusade Advisor: “I can talk to him about anything.” Advice for Crusaders going into high school: “Get involved afterschool. Whatever your interests, there’s a club for you.” What she looks for in a friend: “Someone who’s happy and not afraid to make mistakes and who can make me laugh.” What she does for fun: Plays card games with friends.
