Meet Our Families: Christopher & Yuliana

As a ninth grader at Classical High School, Christopher isn’t quite sure what he wants to be when he grows up, but he’s always excited to have a chance to tour a college campus. Crusaders start visiting colleges in the sixth grade. “I get to visit colleges that I never thought I’d be able to go to,” he says.

Christopher’s mom, Yuliana, remembers enrolling him in The College Crusade when he was in fifth grade. “We had just moved to Providence when I got a letter from The College Crusade,” she says. “I thought, college already!? Fifth grade is so young. I decided to give it a try, and as time passed I knew that my son could actually go to college. Now I think he can do anything — he can go anywhere.”

Having a parent believe in you this much really makes a difference. Through family workshops, forums, and leadership opportunities, we offer dozens of programs that show parents how to support their child’s path to postsecondary success. “You create relationships and you learn they have the same challenges,” says Yuliana, “and somehow, you can help one another. We’re all one and we’re all in this together.”
