Times 2 Academy’15

Rhode Island College ’19
Criminal Justice

“I chose Criminal Justice because I want to impact and make a difference in my communities through my work as an officer and to treat everyone with the respect they deserve.”

Graduated from: Times 2 Academy. Campus involvement: Resident Assistant. What motivates you to succeed? “I’m motivated by wanting to help my family have a better life. I am a first-generation college student and I want to use my education to benefit my family.” How did The College Crusade help you? “It helped in many ways, especially with leadership. I learned a lot of skills. Looking back, I am grateful for being in the program, and my College Crusade advisor Jessica was a big help through it all.” Where do you want to be in five years? “I want to be either a state police officer or working for the police department.” If you could use tech to do one thing what would it be? “I would get rid of social media, because in my opinion social media brings us down. Rather than being productive with our time, we end up getting caught up in unimportant things, and social media has a huge role in that.” What do you value most in life? “All the different opportunities presented to me, such as networking and connecting with new people.” Advice for Crusaders entering college: “Get involved on campus. If you’re not getting involved in things such as clubs, you can’t enjoy everything the school has to offer. You can’t be in your room all day and expect to have fun and meet new people.” How would your best friends describe you? “Helpful. I always do my best to assist my friends. I think they would also say I’m funny and always good to be around.” If you could only take 3 items with you to a deserted island, what would they be? A companion, a flare gun, a knife. One thing you miss about being a kid: “Being able to sleep! I am always busy with something.” What do you want to be remembered for? “I want to be remembered for my willingness to help others, caring for others, and pushing to advance everyone around me.” If you could go anywhere in the world where would it be? “I would go to Holland to visit my best friend, who lives there.” If someone wrote a book about you, what would it be titled? “Fortunate to Have the Life I Have.” Favorite quote: “You miss 100 percent of the shots you don’t take!” Wayne Gretzky.
