Graduating this year from: Tolman High School. Favorite subject: History. Because: “It explains the reasons why things happen.” Favorite era: 500-1500 A.D. Is interested in: The cross-cultural exchanges that occurred around the rise of Islam. Senior portfolio highlight: Videos he created for a class called Design Lab. His most famous video: The original version of the Naruto Run Challenge, which went viral worldwide and inspired many imitations. Where you can see it: YouTube. Latest accomplishment: Selected for Most Likely to Succeed in school senior superlatives. “It was shocking and surprising to find out how many people believe in me.” Latest challenge: Is teaching himself social media marketing. “I am interested in business and tech, so this combines them.” Wants to study: Computer science and entrepreneurship. “I want to be a computer systems analyst and help companies build their IT systems.” Top choices: University of Rhode Island, Bryant University. Favorite Crusade program: Being a Verizon employee at Exchange City. Extracurricular: Filming school basketball games. Also: VP of National Honor Society, member of student council, student representative to the RI Department of Education, works for the Pawtucket COZ as a club advisor. About my Crusade advisor: “She is more than just a college advisor. I go to her for everything, including making decisions about life choices. I can shoot her a question any time of day. She goes above and beyond with help and ideas.” What he looks for in a friend: Humility. Transparency. “Someone who respects adults and is the same person with everyone.” Advice for Crusaders starting high school: “Get stuff done as soon as you can, before it has to be done. Challenge yourself with honors classes or AP classes. You never know how you might develop a whole new interest.” What he does for fun: Sharpening his language skills. Watching motivational videos about people who succeed. Researching conspiracy theories. Biggest unknown about college: “Whether I’m going in the right direction. Whether the classes I take will help me end up in the place I want to be.” Dream job: “To have my own business and be able to live off my own hard work.”
