We Go to the Dolphin Program

Ten lucky high school Crusaders got to spend five days at the Block Island Maritime Institute’s Dolphin Program in July. They learned about Block Island ecology, Great Salt Pond water quality, fishing, sea creatures, growing clams and oysters, bird banding, and maritime arts. They met lots of wonderful island residents and went paddle boarding. One day, they even got a hands-on experience in dissecting squid! Click and scroll down to see our whole photo album.

We are so grateful for the Institute’s hospitality to our students and for teaching them so many new things. Read all about them here: http://bimaritime.org. Special shout-outs to Jack, Don, Mimi, Valerie, and Nancy!
