Choices Is Tops for Vacation Week

For high school Crusaders, winter school vacation means our Choices program! A group of 9th and 10th graders are spending today and tomorrow on the campus of Brown University, working through a curriculum of interactive exercises that help them see how the choices they make now will affect their lives in the future. This morning’s activities started with “Apartment Hunt,” which got Crusaders involved in thinking about how they will take care of themselves and their finances when they are living on their own. Next, in an exercise called “Factors Influencing Who I Am,” they decided together what types of things they can and can’t control in their lives. Can you control the year you were born or the culture you were born into? No. How about your appearance, your attitudes, your interests, and your self-discipline? Yes!

Choices continues this week through Wednesday and Thursday for 11th and 12 graders. On Friday, Crusaders will travel to Clark University and Northeastern University for campus tours and a look at college life!
