TITLE: Middle School Mobile Crusade Advisor
REPORTS TO: Director of Middle School Operations
SALARY: $33,000

BASIC FUNCTIONS: Locate and maintain accurate records on Crusaders in grades 6-8 attending non-advisor schools. Provide referrals and direct services to middle school Crusaders in the areas of academic support, career exploration, social/personal development and post secondary prep. Link Crusaders to existing support systems and Crusade programs. Maintain personal contact with Crusaders, their families and school personnel. Make home visits. Act as an advocate and a liaison between the student, their school and the College Crusade.


  • Using the data provided by IS and the schools, assess, identify and recruit Crusaders to programs in their school, community and the Crusade. Provide and document follow up to ensure successful participation.
  • Connect Crusaders with each other to build Crusade identity so they see each other as a positive influence and resource.
  • Provide workshops on high school readiness, career exploration and life-skills.
  • Form and maintain professional relationships with Crusaders, school administrators, community agencies and other service providers.
  • Assist with the planning & implementation of all transition activities.
  • Collect school rosters and update Crusader personal information on an ongoing basis. Maintain accurate records and document all services provided in a timely manner.
  • Assist with the collection of all required forms.
  • Conduct home visits.
  • Work as a productive member of an integrated Crusade program service delivery team.
  • Meet with Crusaders during and after school individually and in small groups to provide guidance and information to ensure their successful completion of middle school and a smooth transition from elementary to middle and from middle to high school.
  • Run after school programs using the curriculum provided.
  • Participate in professional development and team meetings.
  • Recruit for and facilitate workshops exclusively for non target Crusaders at Saturday Cru Club at least twice per month.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in education, human services or related.

Transportation: Must have own reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.

Skills/Experience: Prior experience with direct service to adolescents. Knowledge of community resources. Innovative individual with high energy level, attention to detail, sound judgment, strong time management and problem solving skills, ability to handle multiple projects and an outgoing personality a must. Proficient computer skills in Word and Excel are required. Must be able to work both independently and as a member of a team and accept supervision.

Special: Must be willing to work a non-traditional schedule several weeks per month : Tuesday-Saturday, including some evening hours. Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
