Harry M. Moore III ’04

harry moore25.jpgHarry M. Moore III ’04 (Mount Pleasant High School) graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 2008 with a B.A. in Human Development and Family Studies. Harry worked as a Site Director at the Darlington YMCA of Pawtucket and a Behavioral Therapist at the Wrentham Development Center. He also served as Literacy Facilitator at the Family YMCA of Pawtucket and a Study Skills Instructor for The College Crusade’s summer Ways to A’s program. Harry is now a College Crusade Advisor, working daily with Crusaders at Samuel Bridgham Middle School to keep them on track for college.

When he thinks about his own experience as a Crusader, Harry remembers programs that kept him engaged. “The Crusade allowed me to make use of otherwise boring Saturdays with educational encouragement and career development,” he says. “Most importantly,” he adds with a smile, “it helped me stay out of trouble.” In particular, he remembers Martin Tighe as a high-energy mentor and guide whose enthusiasm was irresistible. In his free time, Harry volunteers with Crossroads Rhode Island. He also enjoys drawing and reading and getting involved in music projects. He hopes to pursue more education in the future.
