ReneeLavoie.jpgRenee Lavoie ’04 (West Warwick High School) graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 2008 with a B.A. in Journalism. She currently works for URI as the Director of Operations for Women’s Basketball. In addition to attending major athletic events with the team, she is responsible for the team’s travel arrangements and for scheduling practices, gym times, and game times. She also oversees academics and community service for the athletes.

While at URI Renee was a member of the varsity swim team and served as captain her senior year. She continues her passion for swimming today as a lifeguard and a swim instructor for the Kent County YMCA. She also works for the Pawtucket Red Sox and is an avid baseball fan.

“My experience as a Crusader was great,” she says. “The programs kept me on track during my younger years. When it came time to apply for college, the Crusade really helped me through the process. I am a first-generation college graduate, and I had little to no direction or help from family in the application process. The Crusade helped ease all the confusion and really brought me to where I am today.”
