College Crusade Advisors are at the heart of our services to students. They develop relationships with Crusaders, guide them in academic decisions, social development, and career exploration, and help them get ready for college. |
Ama Akoto
Esek Hopkins Middle School
DelSesto Middle School
Ama graduated from Classical High School in 2005. She earned a B.S. in Biology from the University of Rhode Island in 2009. During her senior year of college, she was a science mentor in the Providence schools. She also served for two years as a Residential Assistant at URI.

Tempestt Burrell E-Cubed Academy William M. Davies Jr. Career Tech High Tempestt Burrell, a former Crusader, graduated from Woonsocket High School in 2005. She then attended St. John’s University, graduating in 2009 with a B.A. in Public Administration and a minor in Philosophy of Law.

Javier Cabreja
Nathanael Greene Middle School
Javier graduated from Central High School in 2003. He was awarded a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Rhode Island College in 2009. Before joining the Crusade, Javier worked as a Customer Service & Sales Representative for Bank of America.

Dwayne Clement
Mount Pleasant High School
Dwayne graduated from Central High School in 1997. He went on to attend Rhode Island College and graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology.

James Diossa Woonsocket Middle School James Diossa, a former Crusader, graduated from Central Falls High School in 2003. He then attended Becker College, earning a B.S. in Criminal Justice in 2009. Before joining the Crusade, James worked in customer service for CVS Corporation.

Susan Estrela Shea High School Susan Estrela, a former Crusader, graduated from Shea High School in 2005. She earned an associate’s degree from the Community College of Rhode Island in 2007, and a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Rhode Island in 2010. During her senior year at URI, she traveled around the world with Semester at Sea, a study abroad program sponsored by the University of Virginia.

Victor Lopes Jorge Alvarez High School Victor Lopes, a former Crusader, graduated from East Providence High School in 2005. He then attended the University of Rhode Island, graduating in 2010 with a B.S. in Finance and a B.A. in African American History.

Shelby Maldonado, a former Crusader, graduated from Central Falls High School in 2006. She then attended the University of
Rhode Island, earning a B.A. in Political Science and Communication Studies in 2009. She has worked as a Youth Staff Coordinator for Channel One in Central Falls.

Harry Moore III
Samuel Bridgham Middle School
Harry, a former Crusader and Rhode Island native, graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 2004. He then attended the University of
Rhode Island, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Human Development
and Family Studies in 2008. He has worked as a Site Director at the Darlington
YMCA of Pawtucket and as a Behavioral Therapist at the Wrentham
Development Center. He also served as Literacy Facilitator at the Family YMCA
of Pawtucket and a Study Skills Instructor for The College Crusade.

Roger Williams Middle School
Kristina graduated from St. Mary Academy Bay View in 2005. She earned a B.A. in Psychology & Women's Studies from the University of Rhode Island in 2009. She was a Residential Counselor for URI's Talent Development program and also worked as Supervisor for URI's Academic Enhancement Center.

Richlieu “Rich” A. Norris
Gilbert Stuart Middle School
Rich Norris graduated from Feinstein High School in 2005. He then attended the University of Rhode Island, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education and History in 2009. While at URI, he served as a Resident Assistant. Prior to joining the Crusade, he was employed as a Behavior Specialist for Perspectives Corporation.

Central Falls High School
Jessica graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. Before joining the Crusade, she was employed at Nickerson Community Center as Program Coordinator for a Workforce Program.

Hezekiah Ross Times2 Academy Nathan Bishop Middle School Hezekiah Ross graduated from Southwest Dekalb High School in Decatur, Georgia, in 2004. He then attended Bryant University, graduating in 2009 with a B.S. in Accounting. Prior to joining our staff as an Advisor, Hezekiah was employed as an instructor for our CAAP program and worked as an intern for our finance department.

Judith Taveras Joseph Jenks Junior High School Woonsocket Middle School Judith Taveras graduated from The Met in 2003. She then went on to Pine Manor College, earning a B.A. in History with a concentration in Cultural History in 2007. Before joining the Crusade, she worked for the Boys & Girls Club of Pawtucket.

Woonsocket High School
Ralph, a former Crusader, graduated from Central High School in 2003. He attended the University of Rhode Island, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Textile, Merchandising & Design in 2007. Ralph has served as an intern at the McGrath Judicial Complex Adult Parole and Probation Department. Previously he worked for the Crusade as an instructor in the Ways to A’s summer study-skills program.

Kalomo Vanterpool
Hope High School
Kalomo earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Rhode Island College. He has been part of the AmeriCorps LEAP program and has worked at the Providence Center of Psychiatric Services.

Chanda Womack Central High School Chanda Womack graduated from Classical High School in 1999 and then earned a B.A. in Communications from the University of Rhode Island in 2004. She is currently completing a master’s program in Secondary Education, with a concentration in math, at the University of Phoenix. Chanda has been a substitute teacher at the high school level and a teacher for Providence Summerbridge. She has also worked as a loan officer in the banking industry.
