Lydel Hall '03

lydelhall.jpgLydel Hall '03 (Central Falls High School) graduated from Rhode Island College in 2007 with a B.S. in Music Education. For the past three years he has been employed as a music teacher for the Providence School Department. “I like the fact that I can connect with students and strive to make a difference in their lives,” he says. His college experience has opened many doors. “I was able to build up connections and resources that are still there for me to this day,” he adds.

Lydel places a high value on the connections he was able to make with teachers and mentors as a Crusader. He remembers being inspired and encouraged by staff members Angelo and Youssef especially. “My experience as a Crusader was amazing,” he says. “It helped me build social skills, teamwork, and confidence. It kept me off the streets and made college an option for me both mentally and financially.” While in college, Lydel served as a mentor himself by working as a part-time instructor for the Crusade Adventure & Academic Program.

In his free time, Lydel writes and records music and volunteers after school as a guitar, piano, and voice teacher. He enjoys playing with his son and getting together with friends for basketball, football, and bowling.
